My workshops are fun and thoughtful. We bring art and Scripture together in our own unique way. Our works in progress and finished pieces inspire others to see deeper into Gods Word. Creating beauty in our world brings a light and playfulness to our lives. Making Art moves our minds to a place of peace and hope. It’s another way to meditate on Scripture in a highly creative way.

The following is a concise list of why I believe in the transformative power of art.

I see it at work in the workshops I facilitate and in my own creative practice.

I believe art can open hearts, see things anew, and gives us hope.

I believe art both calms and energizes the soul.

Art can transform a space.

Art captures memories.

Art reminds us of our humanity.

Art and art making exercise the mind.

Art making provides the ground for experimenting, for finding new ways of working, for solving problems.

Art making can free our tendency to be restrictive, to let go and have fun.

Art making takes us into the flow, distractions melt away.

Art can speak when we don’t have the words.

Art making can be messy and playful without judgment.

Art teaches us how to look beyond the obvious.

Art reminds us of who we are, what we like, dislike and where we compromise.

Art can be like music, or poetry, only with color, line, and shape.

Art can make us feel, have a gut reaction, look deeper.

Creating beauty for me is the process to add something to other peoples lives. A stopping place to rest from the noise in the world. A place to contemplate, to remember, to hope, and to change, to become new, to become whole, to see what you have never seen before.
